AIM Tool & Die Cold-Fold Tester Machine

Scope:
This machine evaluates the pliability of leather, vinyl, burlap, abs films, etc. under specified conditions.Machine Description:
The Pliability Tester is an automated indexing table capable of testing eight samples. The holder is cycled to deflect a dial indicator having a specified weight on it. The Pliability Tester is available with 60-Hz 110-V or 50-Hz 220-V motors.Test Description:
Test samples are eight 25 x 76 mm die cut rectangles per GM procedure.Test Procedure:
Adjust the distance between the bottom of the slots in the test sample holder and the underside of the contact foot of the dial to 38-mm when the test sample holder is in the down position. Insert a 38-mm calibration plate in one of the slots. The dial of the gauge shall read zero with the test sample holder in the up position. Place the samples in indexing table slots by forming a loop, coated or face side out, and put the specified weight on top of the dial indicator. Weights are provided for testing at 20g, 30g, 50g and 100g. Press the start button to cycle the machine and observe the highest reading as indicated on the dial of gauge. Manually rotate the indexing table 1/8 of a turn. Repeat for all samples to be tested. Report the results as the average pliability.return to
